Need some serious (but fashionable) active-wear options for the gym? Here are a few understated picks that won’t have you looking like a neon billboard
Founded in 2012, Australian active sportswear brand L’urv is another option that has recently landed on our shores for yoga enthusiasts to peruse through. The Australian label offers a “tough luxe” look this summer, with lots of army prints and military-inspired shades such as olive green and black. Not all yoga-wear has to be girly and pastel-hued! The silhouettes are sleek, with seemingly simplistic leggings and cropped tops. However, look closer and you’ll see luxurious details on the leggings such as panels with glossy pintucks, leatherette splicing and mesh inserts. The tops also flaunt peekaboo cut-outs and use rose gold hardware. The designer and founder, Libby Pettit, is into all wild things this summer, so expect to see a share of animal prints, alongside the expected staples of florals — albeit the non-flowery kind. Find L’urv at Central Chidlom, Bang Na, Lat Phrao and Pin Klao.
This season, our local lounge/active/beach wear authority Misty Mynx ropes in soap star Kimberley Tiamsiri as their campaign face. And a fitting pick it sure is — as the sultry star brings in just the right amount of sexy, sweet and sporty to the collection. She’s also the perfect fitspiration, looking healthy and glowing in the brand’s Movement line. There are the expected staples of belly-baring cropped tops and leggings, mostly in monochrome for the ease of mix and matching. If you aren’t the flowery or colourful sort (which they also have), there are plain silver hoodies and tops for you to work out in that bring a pop of sparkle to your total look without peacocking too much. Being the completely well-rounded lifestyle destination that they are, there’s also matching accessories such as caps and shoes, should you want to feel Mynx all the way from head to toe. The spring/summer 2017 collection is available at all Misty Mynx stores.
