InterCare Asia 2017 will offer products and services for elder care and wellness.
Looking for gadgets to help your parents enjoy old age to the fullest? “InterCare Asia 2017” is made of stuff senior people dream of.
From tomorrow until Saturday, 10am-7pm, at Bitec, Bang Na-Trat Road, the second edition of the international expo for elder care and wellness is being organised by NCC Exhibition Organizer, with the aim to push Thailand as a medical hub for elder care in Asia, as well as to prepare the country for its prospective shift into a full-fledged ageing society in the next six years.
This is an opportunity to browse through a variety of products and services for the elderly from 250 booths and learn about innovative products and modern medical technology from Japan, Taiwan, Malaysia, Switzerland and Thailand.
Among highlighted innovations are rehabilitation robots for physical therapy created by Kasetsart University, oral care and skin care products by Thai entrepreneurs, nutritious jelly and instant soup developed by the National Science and Technology Development Agency (ITAP), specialised equipment for vestibular rehabilitation by Samrong Ruam Jai Foundation, and medical ID tag bracelets from the Medical ID Alliance of Thailand (Midat).
The expo is divided into five major zones. The “Home Care” zone will offer mobility equipment such as wheelchairs, walker and canes; and a range of daily life aids, including clothes-changing aids and bath equipment. Air cleaners and humidifiers will also be available alongside pressure sores prevention products.
The “Rehabilitation” zone will feature supportive and protective devices and tools that will make life at lot easier, including elevators, assistant robots and hearing aids. The “Medical Tourism” zone will introduce travel packages from tour operators and special treatments from spas, fitness centres and Thai massage establishments. The “Services” zone will include nursing homes, wheelchair-accessible vehicles and senior hospitals. The last zone, “Nutrition”, will come with special food products suitable for those with high blood pressure, diabetes and heart disease, as well as Thai and Chinese herbal and supplementary products.
There will also be seminars throughout the three days. There is no admission fee and a visit might lessen your concerns about ageing.
