Yorkshire TV entrepreneurs lined up for annual Ilkley business conference

THRIVE Yorkshire business growth conference is back for its fourth year.

The event will be held on Thursday, September 14, from 9am to 4pm at the King’s Hall and Winter Gardens in Ilkley.

The conference, which is heavily subsidised by the Ilkley Business Forum, will focus on tips, strategies, stories and ideas to help SME’s grow both their business and themselves.

Ruth Whiteley Director of Impact Sales and contestant on series 11 of The Apprentice, is back as a main presenter, following a very popular workshop in 2016.

Ruth said: “’Thrive brings out the best in Yorkshire businesses and does exactly what it says on the tin! What looks like a local gathering attracts companies and representatives from far afield with business abounding and contacts extended. After speaking at last year’s event I received numerous requests for consultancy and speaking opportunities – one of which took me to Wales and London. This is a conference not to be missed!”

Joining Ruth this year is Gavin Patterson, the Ilkley entrepreneur who recently appeared in the BBC series Second Chance Summer. Gavin will talk about his time on the show and how he feels he has now found his true passion.

Gavin said: “I was delighted and flattered to be asked to participate in this year’s Thrive event. In addition to talking about my time on the BBC series, I will also discuss relationship building, which I believe is the cornerstone of any successful business.”

The conference will also include inspirational stories from keynote speaker William Rogers, CEO of UKRD Group and winner of The Best Company to work for for four years in a row and two other Yorkshire based entrepreneurs.

There will also be a series of workshops on topics including social media, email marketing and empowering women to achieve.

Liz Scott chairwoman of the Thrive Yorkshire committee said: “I am thrilled to be involved in the organisation again of this popular conference. Once again, we are excited by another great line up of speakers. The event has become increasingly popular and we had some amazing feedback last year from delegates and exhibitors. Many delegates told us how they had been inspired and definitely now had more tools to help them grow their business.”
