Pilot, passenger injured after plane flips at Owen Sound air show

A Toronto pilot and a 21-year-old passenger are recovering from minor injuries after the plane they were flying in flipped near Owen Sound during an air show.

The 46-year-old pilot from Toronto was flying a Second World War Harvard Mark4 just after 2:30 p.m. Sunday and was landing at Billy Bishop Regional Airport when the plane left the runway and flipped in a field.

The 21-year-old woman from West Grey was treated on scene and released.

The pilot was taken to hospital where he was treated and released.

An off-duty physician and nurse attending the event helped the two out.

The Transportation Safety Board has been notified.
