Cambodian Products Trade Fair in Battambang Province Concluded
AKP Phnom Penh, May 29, 2017 –
The four-day Cambodian Products Trade Fairs, which is part of 2017 Buying Khmer Product Campaign, was wrapped up yesterday under the presidency of H.E. Pan Sorasak, Minister of Commerce.
On the occasion, H.E. Pan Sorasak expressed his appreciation to the efforts of Trade Promotion General Directorate (GDTP), local authorities and relevant organisations in forming up the important trade event to inspire Cambodian citizens to support and use the home-made products, instead of imported products/goods.
“The Buying Khmer Campaign is the ministry’s strategy aiming at promoting the export directly from the trade fair,” said H.E. Pan Sorasak. “The Ministry of Commerce committed to support private sector development through negotiating and exploring more new markets for producers and traders to diversify the exports in order to generate revenues for our country.”
“Through today event, I do hope that Cambodian products will appear more and more in the markets, particularly the superstores in Cambodia as well as international markets in other countries,” he added.
The trade fair took place from May 25-28, 2017 at Veal Békchan (Soccer Field) of Battambang City, Battambang province. It attracted 120 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across the country.
The Ministry of Commerce will continue organising this trade fair in other strategic locations such as Svay Rieng province in June, Phnom Penh capital in October and Kep province in December.
