Blues skies were the perfect backdrop for the Fort Lauderdale air show

With perfectly blue skies as its backdrop, the F-18 Super Hornet zipped by Fort Lauderdale Beach Sunday at 720 mph hour before performing several maneuvers to the thousands of spectators.

The twin-engine, supersonic jet was only one of several that were on display for the final day of the Fort Lauderdale air show.

And for those that missed this year’s two-day festival, organizers have already announced next year’s event, which will be May 5-6, 2018.

The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds will return to headline the 2018 show, according to the show’s Facebook Page.

Among Sunday’s performers: The Geico Skytypers and The Canadian Armed Forces Snowbirds.
